Sylvie Lamothe: FLOW Instructor

Sylvie discovered her love for Yoga 10 years ago when she unwillingly attended her first class after losing a bet to a co-worker. Addicted to high-intensity fitness programs, long distance running, and hip hop dancing, she always thought yoga was boring and wasn’t a ‘real’ workout.  During her first class she discovered that Yoga wasn’t just ‘stretching’ and some poses required a lot of strength. Since then, she’s been hooked on asanas and has had a lot of opportunity to practice various styles.

Sylvie’s adventurous spirit has taken her to live and work in Latin America, the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa over the last four years. This has never stopped her from practicing. The beautiful thing about Yoga is that it doesn’t require a lot of equipment or space – it can be done anywhere and everywhere. As a globetrotter Sylvie didn’t always have access to yoga classes, so she began building her own yoga sequences and routines at home and invited her friends to take part in her sessions.  Never one to follow tradition, she grew bored of Zen-style yoga music and brought her love for hip-hop music into her practice. She began practicing Yoga to music that has rhythm, soul and beats.

Returning back to her roots after a whirlwind of travels, Sylvie joins our team to bring us her latest creation – a music-lead yoga flow class that will challenge your flexibility, strength and balance.
